January’s ROARabration will focus on winter games. Students that earn 60 paw prints will participate in winter games at the PE pavilion and field. Students that earn 80 paw prints will earn winter games, hot chocolate with marshmallows, and may wear their favorite t-shirt. Students that earn 100 paw prints will earn winter games, hot chocolate with marshmallows, may wear their favorite t-shirt, and will make white winter slime!
Students that earn the favorite t-shirt reward must remember to wear a shirt that follows PCPS dress code guidelines and be appropriate for school.
A PBIS slip will come home on Thursday, January 30, to let parents/guardians know which reward tier their student(s) earned.

Join us for our second report card conference and family dinner night on Thursday, January 23, 2020. Conference night will begin at 3:30 PM and end at 6:00 PM. Please return conference RSVP forms to your child’s homeroom teacher as soon as possible to schedule your conference.
We are hosting a family dinner night to help families get conferences completed and have dinner with no stress. Dinners are free and include one slice of pizza, one bag of chips, and one drink. Dinners are available to the first 250 people. Staff members will be available in the dining room with information related to Accelerated Reader (AR), iStation, Smarty Ants, Freckle, Title One, upcoming assessments, and ways to help your child at home. We hope you will join us!
Report cards for the second quarter will be distributed to students on Friday, January 17, 2020. We will send this week’s Wednesday folders home on the same day. Please review your child’s report card, sign, and return the signature portion in the Wednesday folder on Tuesday, January 21, 2020. The next early dismissal day is Wednesday, January 15, 2020. Students will be dismissed 2.5 hours early at 12:30 PM. Please call the school at (863) 499-2950 if you have any questions.
Students will receive their “Wednesday Folder” for the first time today (12/11/19). This folder is provided to help strengthen and streamline home to school communication. Fliers, graded work, and other communication will come each Wednesday. Please check the folder, remove all documents, and return to school on Thursday.

Our walkers in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and first grade will be released at 2:20 p.m. All other students will be released at 2:30 p.m.
Tutoring taking place in the afternoon will proceed as planned. Students receiving after school tutoring today do not need to be picked up early.
The Lakeland Police Department will be holding a memorial service today for Officer Ken Foley, who passed away recently after suffering a medical emergency while on duty.
We are releasing students earlier today to help reduce the amount of traffic in the area during the expected time of the funeral procession.

O’Brien’s Lions are working diligently to earn paw prints for December’s ROARabration! Students need 50 paw prints to choose between a winter dance or a holiday craft activity. Students that earn 70 paw prints will get to dress up for the dance or come out of uniform. All outfits must meet PCPS dress code guidelines and be appropriate for school. Students will receive an “out of uniform” wristband to wear at ROARabration. Students that earn 90 paw prints will also receive holiday cookies and juice.
