No Backpacks for the Remainder of the School Year

From Polk County Public Schools:
Reminder: Beginning Monday, May 22, 2023, no backpacks will be allowed at all PCPS school sites for the remainder of the current school year. The last day of school for students is Wednesday, May 31. For the remainder of this month, students may carry bags no larger than a small purse. Lunchboxes will still be permitted.
This is simply a precautionary measure. It is not uncommon for schools to implement such a security change during the last days of the school year, when it is no longer necessary for students to carry backpacks or large purses.
If you feel that child needs accommodations regarding this change, please contact the office.

Free Meals for All Students

For several years now all PCPS schools have been covered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), so there is no charge for students to have breakfast and lunch. Breakfast and lunch are free for all students. This will continue through the new 2022 – 2023 school year. If you have any questions, please contact our food service manager, Michelle Yborra, at (863) 499-2950. Thank you.
