Lakeland Rotary Supports Philip O'Brien Elementary

On June 28, 2022, our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Vicky Adams, and our Principal, Mr. Charlie Huntley, attended the Lakeland Rotary Club luncheon and meeting. The Lakeland Rotary Club is the generous sponsor of the Know & Grow program at Philip O’Brien Elementary, Crystal Lake Elementary, and Highlands City Elementary for the past two years.

In addition to the iPads presented as part of the Know & Grow event, the Lakeland Rotary Club presented a $7,000 donation to Philip O’Brien Elementary! It is with a most grateful heart that we accept this donation and work to build an outdoor classroom focused on hands-on science teaching and learning for all students.
Thank you Lakeland Rotary!

Third Grade Summer Learning

If your third grader is attending summer learning at Carlton Palmore Elementary, please read the important information below.

Students that live closer to Philip O’Brien Elementary may catch the bus at our school. Students that live closer to CODE Academy can catch the bus at CODE Academy. Both schools will be picked up at 7:00 AM and will be dropped off at 1:15 PM. Please be on time as the buses cannot wait for late students.

Staff members will be ready at Philip O’Brien Elementary to provide supervision for students. Please park in designated spaces in the parking lot and walk students to the benches in front of the school. When picking students up, please park in designated spaces and walk over to pick up students from the bus loop. Due to the bus using the bus loop, we ask that no cars be parked in the loop.

Students catching the bus at CODE Academy are to wait on the benches in front of the school until the bus arrives. If you have questions about catching the bus at CODE, please call that school at (863) 499-2960.

We were just informed by Carlton Palmore Elementary that they are hosting an orientation today (June 2) from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. We apologize for the late notice. If you have any questions about summer learning, please contact Carlton Palmore Elementary School at (863) 648-3510.
