Check out the wonderful Tag Art from our talented fifth-grade Lions! Thank you for supporting the arts at Philip O’Brien Elementary!
Thank you, Dollar General Stores, for your generous donation of school supplies! These supplies will go directly to students as we continue to ROAR to Success! We appreciate your support.
Safe Schools for Alex is a Web site for an organization that works to promote school safety and provide resources to parents, students, and other stakeholders. We encourage you to visit the site to learn more!
A few weeks ago, Philip O’Brien Elementary staff members volunteered their time to stuff 500 goodie bags for employees of Lakeland Regional Health. This was a community volunteer effort, and we were proud to be a part of it. Thank you to our frontline workers for all you do!
In October, POBE staff members participated in a “Pink Out” day for breast cancer awareness. Staff members could donate $5 or items such as lotion, scented candles, snacks, or blankets to go into a care basket in order to wear their favorite pink shirt and jeans for the day. We gathered multiple care package items and money to purchase gift cards which are being donated to a local community member who is recovering from breast cancer surgery.
Thank you staff for your generosity and for supporting those in our community!
Congratulations to Ms. Caren Hiam, Teacher of the Year, and Mrs. Marie Sagnella, School-Related Employee of the Year. Ms. Hiam currently teaches students in grades K-5 who receive ESE services. She is the ESE grade level chairperson and also serves on the PBIS committee. Ms. Hiam is an alumni of Philip O’Brien Elementary School and has taught here since 2014.
Mrs. Sagnella is a Title One and Family Involvement paraeducator. She can often be found pulling small groups of students to accelerate them to success. She plays a vital role in increasing family and community involvement at Philip O’Brien Elementary. Mrs. Sagnella has been a Philip O’Brien Lion since 2019.
Congratulations ladies! You ROAR!
